URGENT AID APPEAL
FOR CHILDREN IN UKRAINE
HAO Ireland is raising funds to send urgently needed aid to the children’s refuge in Odesa. Our first shipment of aid arrived in Odesa on 26 July – overseen on the ground by James Dillon, founder of HAO and Liam Rabbitt, volunteer.
We are currently raising funds for continuous shipments from now until the end of the year.
Our next shipment will be in memory of Liam Rabbitt.

These children have fled from villages and regions that have been affected by the bombings or occupied during the invasion. They are arriving in Odesa with nothing. Some children have severe burns and other injuries – some arriving with their mothers – but many have lost family members when their homes were destroyed.
Our first shipment of aid was delivered to our partner, Way Home Foundation, who are based in Odesa and cater for medical needs, nutrition and other needs of these children affected by the war.
Our Vision
HAO’s vision is to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, to give them a voice and the opportunity to participate as full members of society – in a way that respects their dignity and their right to choose how they live their lives.
Our Mission
The mission of HAO is to facilitate community-based service development for people with disabilities overseas. HAO believes in working in partnership with local authorities in host countries and supports a rights-based approach to disability service provision. We are also committed to the social model of disability, which places a person’s disability in the context of barriers to their participation in society.
Our Charitable Purpose
Advancement of community welfare – including the relief of those in need – by reason of youth, age, ill-health or disability.
Integration of those who are disadvantaged, and the promotion of their full participation, in society.
Other purpose that is of benefit to the community.
